___________All about Ryan________

Hello, my name is Ryan. I love to rant, in depth about so many different topics. I have an assorted collection of articles here centered around some of my many interests and areas of expertise. If you are looking for my live Blog, it is located HERE.

I have been involved with PC's and most all Electronic devices in some capacity professionally for over 20 years! I'm also the guy whose friends and family would always talk to if they ever have problems or issues setting up or using any electronic devices like computers, audio visual equipment, phones, mp3 players, gaming systems and technology questions in general.

I've always had a knack for electronics. I was always taking apart my brand new toys to see how they worked and then enjoyed putting them back together. You can imagine my parents amazement when they saw that I actually could put everything back together and have it working perfectly again. Though I can remember a few times that psuhed the limits like when my parents were upset to discover our brand new HI-FI VCR sitting in parts and pieces on the living room floor. Now back in 1983 when this happened, new VCR's were expensive, and they kind of flipped out, assuming there was no way that VCR was going to work again. Well, wasn't I proud of myself to call my parents back into the living room later that night to find that "Holy Crap" look in their eyes when they saw the VCR completely back together and playing a tape!

My first computer was a Commodore VIC 20. I enjoyed countless hours of programming code onto audio tapes for data storage (because it had no floppy disk drive) in order to play a simple, crudely rendered game like chess, which by today's standards would be consider medieval.

Over the years I had many different jobs that centered around electronics or computers. For my career I decided to choose computers and IT. I enjoyed the short duration in which PC use exploded in the 90's and by 1994, a career in Information Technology was amazing, as the field saw explosive growth and I enjoyed growing with it.

I settled into a nice career doing Systems IT administration and PC support. I have seen so many crazy things during my many years doing computer and electronic support. Things that I could not believe, but yet seem to be happening repeatedly among new users of devices that were increasing in complexity. Hearing and seeing these stories of atrocity on a regular basis I made it my personal mission to steer people to the correct practices regarding PC's and electronic devices. I became an ever popular resource that people would use for buying advice or support tips for the growing list of electronics in their household. I even compiled some of this knowledge into classes that I gave at my Employer's request at their internal learning unit.
